New Year’s Parties for Kids in Orlando

The days of staying up until midnight waiting for the ball to drop while suffering from high-heeled sore feet and over-served adult conversations are probably over. We hear you! PLAYGROUND has selected a few of our favorite events happening in and around Orlando that can have you in bed at a decent hour and won’t require Spanx or hiring a baby sitter. Here are some perfect ways to celebrate ringing in 2018 with the whole family.

December 29, 6 p.m.–10 p.m.
New Year’s Kid’s Night Out
Mad Science Laboratory, Oviedo
Drop off the kids for some fun in the lab, a dance party and dinner with new friends! Science classes, crafts and more are available while the grown-ups enjoy a night to themselves. Ages 4 and up.

December 31, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
LEGOLAND New Year’s Eve Party
LEGOLAND Florida Resort, Winter Haven
Join LEGOLAND to count down to 2018 and watch the ball—ahem, brick—drop at the kid-friendly time of 8 p.m. End the night with LEGOLAND’s most spectacular fireworks show of the year! What a perfect way to ring in the New Year before bedtime. The New Year’s Eve celebration is included with all forms of park admission.

Baby Boogie Bash New Year’s Party 
Amaya Papaya Play Lounge, Casselberry
Join Amaya Papaya for a fun-filled Baby Boogie Bash New Year’s Party! The Baby Boogie Bash (East Coast) is a dance party for kids ages 0–7 featuring disco lights and music from the 80s, 90s and today. No nursery rhymes, just real jams (age-appropriate, of course) that will get your feet moving and booty grooving. Pizza and drinks, crafts, circle time and a live DJ are all topped off with a balloon drop at noon (instead of midnight!). Bring the whole family together for a PLAYful celebration of the incoming new year. Tickets are available online.

Noon Year’s Eve

Celebrate the New Year’s at noon so the kids can “ring it in” too. Balloon drop, Rick O’Shay dance party, hidden surprises and more! Family Fun Day Special: four 1-hour jump passes, a pizza and a pitcher of soda for $50. Regular jump time is available also.

Noon Year’s Eve
Orlando Science Center
Count down to the new year at noon instead of midnight! Learn how different cultures around the world celebrate the new year at the KidsTown Cultural New Year Countdown. Kids can make wishing spheres like in Singapore, craft a Junkanoo mask like in the Bahamas and much more! Other activities include writing New Year’s resolutions, making party hats to wear for the countdown, and of course, participating in super cool science demonstrations. As the clock strikes noon, celebrate together with the big countdown and balloon drop! Complete your experience by visiting the Playing with Light and Gingerbread Lane exhibits, catching a giant-screen or 3D film, checking out all four floors of hands-on exhibits and more!

Brevard Zoo Noon Year’s Eve
Brevard Zoo, Melbourne
Join the Brevard Zoo for a wild party that won’t interrupt the kiddos’ bedtime! The ball drops at noon, and everyone is invited to celebrate with complimentary juice toast! Stay and enjoy all that the Brevard Zoo has to offer.

Enjoy a spectacular New Year’s count down for kids! There will be a countdown with confetti and bubbles at 12 p.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., a piñata party at 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m., plus activities all day long such as: teddy bear, face painting, balloons twisting, tattoo station.Happy new year 2018!

Aloma Bowling Centers’ New Year’s Eve Fun

The Aloma Bowling Centers are ready to roll into 2018! All of the venues — Aloma Bowl in Winter Park, Airport Lanes in Sanford and Boardwalk Bowl in Orlando — are offering both daytime and nighttime New Year’s Eve specials. The daytime special includes two games of bowling and shoe rental for only $15 per person, plus a $10 arcade card or tokens for the arcade. The nighttime special will keep the fun going even past that midnight kiss. Guests can reserve a lane for up to five people for $80 in advance or $90 at the door. Individuals can also bowl for $25 at the door. The party lasts from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. In addition to bowling, all of the Aloma Bowling Centers offer a full bar with delicious drinks and a restaurant with fresh sandwiches, pizza, salads and more.
