National Catholic Schools Week

The “Lions” of Holy Family Catholic School are gearing up for a week of fun and festivities to show their pride! Students will show their support for their school and Catholic Schools around the country during their Catholic Schools Week celebration. This year, CSW will run the week of January 30, 2017-February 3, 2017. (National CSW runs Jan. 29-Feb 4.)

The theme for this year is “Catholic Schools: Faith, Knowledge, & Service.” The week is full of events and surprises that nourish the body and soul. It begins with the school opening its doors for their annual Open House Monday, January 30, 2017 from 8:30-10am. This will give
prospective families a behind the classroom doors tour of the school.

Through the week masses are held along with various events that get the children’s competitive and creative spirits rolling. There is a WalkA-thon to raise money for the Orphans Rising Missions, Field Day (come see Principal Sister Dorothy Sayers assist in a tug-of-war!), along with Crazy Hair & Sock Day, a Talent Show, Virtual Career Day, and Volunteer Breakfast, honoring all the people who make every event at Holy Family Catholic School possible.

One of the most anticipated days of the week is when the 8th Grade “takes over the school.” The Class of 2017 will prepare lessons for weeks in advance so they will be ready to go to the head of the class to teach younger students lessons while their teachers get to kick up their feet.
