Ahoy, matey. Thursday, September 19th is National Talk Like a Pirate day. Though this day only encourages talking like a pirate, we thought a few pirate-themed activities would rock the boat, in a good way. Here’s a list of a few fun ideas for celebrating.
Download Pirate Rush: Pirate Rush is a free game for iPhone and iPad that features high seas, romance, and of course, treasure. The object of the game is to rescue Princess Annie, if you can find her that is. You can get the app here https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/pirate-rush-speed-boat-adventure/id638166540?mt=8.
Have a date night at Treasure Tavern: Pirate Dinner Adventure’s “dirty sister” show has been known to raise the bar on raunchy pirate behavior. The show is for adults only, and for good reason. Enjoy food, drinks and a live show that will get you wishing everyday was National Talk Like a Pirate Day. www.treasuretavern.com
Take the Kids to Pirate’s Dinner Adventure: This is a dinner show for the whole family that is a must-see, not just on this pirate-themed occasion. Enjoy an interactive dining experience where talking like a pirate is more than encouraged. www.piratesdinneradventure.com
Visit Magic Kingdom’s “Pirate’s Adventure: Treasures of the Seven Seas”: This new interactive experience gets its guests in the pirate groove with a treasure hunt throughout Adventureland. Using pirate maps, guests engage in five different raids as they join the most lovable pirate, Captain Jack Sparrow, in facing a whole slew of enemies.
Take a Disney Pirate Cruise: Set out on the high sea’s for this two-hour treasure hunt. Children ages 4-12 will be donned with a red and white pirate’s hat as they board their maiden voyage. This one is just for the kids and the pirate crew, no parents allowed. At each “port of call” a new treasure awaits. At their final stop, they can share their booty while enjoying lunch. Cruises depart daily from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. from the Yacht and Beach Club, Grand Floridian, Caribbean Beach Resort and Port Orleans Riverside resorts
